Seagrass Identification and In-water Workshop

We are excited to offer a Seagrass Identification & In-Water Survey Workshop on August 24th at The Nature Conservancy Blowing Rocks Preserve. This informative workshop is designed for consultants, government employees, and students (ages 18+) interested in learning about seagrass species and survey methodologies to support their professional development. Participants will learn to identify local species and become familiar with various seagrass survey methodologies. We will review seagrass survey protocols and agency recommendations (FWC, FDEP, USACE, etc.). The workshop will include an informal presentation and an in-water field training exercise. Participants will conduct a mock seagrass survey in the shallow waters of the Jensen Beach -Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve.
